Our watch face for Wear OS

Want a watch face like the one in the photo? Download it for free on Google Play !

And of course, a little about the gadget itself…

I’ve never been a fan of wearing watches. But that only applies to regular watches. A smartwatch, with notifications and voice capabilities, is a completely different device. So, I finally decided to get a new gadget.

After browsing through all the reviews, I chose the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 46mm.

And here’s why:

  1. Classic watch design. It’s a matter of taste, but I like this particular form factor.
  2. The bezel is awesome. It protects the glass and lets you control the watch even if it’s in water. A touchscreen can’t do that…
  3. Well, it’s a real smartwatch, not a fitness tracker (unlike the Huawei GT3 for the same price!)
  4. I was looking for a watch with Wear OS because developing my own software for Google’s operating system is the least problematic.
  5. You can swim with the watch on. Damn, that’s just awesome! I can see all my notifications and even answer calls without getting out of the pool. However, the speaker will be filled with water at that point, so you probably won’t be able to have a normal conversation. ;)

Disappointments

  1. Battery life. Two days is the maximum, considering I turned off almost all the fitness features. With these, it’s half that.
  2. It also drains your smartphone’s battery. An unexpected bonus…
  3. The app scene isn’t as great as I’d like. Even for Wear OS, there are very few useful apps for the watch. It’s especially disappointing that Telegram is gone. It was there, but for some reason, the developers decided to abandon it. They should have at least left the source code, the assholes! The old version no longer works because a lot has changed in the protocol.
  4. My hand sweats under the strap.

Conclusion

Overall, I’m happy with the purchase and have gotten used to charging it every day. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to all my expectations, but I hope this will be addressed in the future. On the plus side, there’s a wonderful Watch Face Studio app that allows anyone to create their own watch face with a blackjack and hands. I actually used it to create our signature watch face. Isn’t it beautiful? ;)
